IPL Dream and the Big Four
Yes it should be the IPL dream for many of my favourite players
Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Kumble are some the great Indian giants who have unfortunately crashed out of the dazzling IPL bandwagon
Things have gone haywire for all these players from day one
Sachin, Ganguly ,Dravid and Laxman must have lost it more than anyone because they were fighting to prove something
Fighting to prove that it is not age but it is talent and skill that matters
Feels bad to see these guys stranded after an illustrious career of playing for India
As said and heard many times, they were the best during the best of their days
Even now some of their brilliance is found at times when they play
Even now people find it hard to bear holes in The Wall
The bowlers still fear the brash batting nature of the Little Master
Even now as 'Times of India' put it, Ganguly can surprise everyone around, even more he still can surprise himself
The days of claiming 10 wickets in an innings are long gone for Kumble
Bowlers have cut into the stylish and god like wristy talented Laxman
The new technology has made the lives of the senior players a bit hard, since everything is recorded and every other bowler in the world has a plan for them
But must say it
These guys rock even now
The mere presence of Sachin Tendulkar uplifts the team morale and their outlook
Even now whenever Dravid comes out to bat into a sticky situation we know the day is saved
Nobody exhibits passion and craziness to the extent of Ganguly, even today..
But everything has to have an end
And so has to Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman
But nothing note worthy of the current lot either
Just that India's bench strength has gone up to jaw dropping levels, especially after the IPL, it must be like WOWWWW....
Take this for instance, M S Doni does not like coming one down in a pressure situation, instead lot of people have been sent before him
But when situation is good and cool we see Doni coming out and waxing the bowlers!!!
Gautum Gambhir has had enough chance to prove in the international arena but he has never shown the same level of consistency as he has done in IPL
Harbhajan Singh needs the entire population of India to vouch for him when things go wrong Down Under
And when he is on Indian turf he has the balls to slap his own national team mate
And plead guilty and lenience for the same
Sreeshant on the other hand was cut out for Bollywood rather than cricket
Dancing good but courage, just like girls
On national TV crying like a small girl
The pace duo Nehra, and Zaheer Khan get belted all over the place for the initial six months of the season
And the remaining six months they are injured...!!!
A blazing Ishant Sharma reduced to a novice in the IPL... (SRK must be fuming at the very mention of his name)
Yuvraj Singh more interested in the commercial aspect of life, rather than wearing the colors of the nation
But one of those guys who is in constant findings of success on the field and does sharpen our dull fielding (Facts are Facts)
How can i forget Shewag (Shame on me?)
Now now now what do i say about this guy
Started off as a clone of Tendulkar, grew to replacing Tendulkar and today finds himself fighting for a spot in the National team
Must obviously note a few things of the veterans tough
Nobody in the current lot has played or has the tenacity to play for 19+ years of International cricket as The Little Master has done
No batsman can annoy a foreign bowler on foreign pitches (forget annoying, in today’s world even survival has become a question) as The Wall has repeatedly done
Nobody has the commitment to be thrown out, with the entire world against him
But still make a comeback and live along the same people who hated him (for a period of time after his exit) and still shine like Dada has done
Even the aggression levels matched by others is purely dramatized compared to what we have seen from Dada
Name me one batsman who is as stylish and a sight to watch when he is on a song like Laxman
Who when he plays (which is very rare and if you get to watch one of those rare situations, you are deemed to be born lucky.....!) plays big time
If not aggressive by the body language but has a mind and a pair of hands that can weave magic. Laxman this may be the end, but it ain't very far
But trust me you guys were worth the entire craze and the time spent watching you guys play. I surely and strongly think so
